Wood Frame Construction
Building using the Residenz System means having the advantages of prefabrication without running into the natural obstacles to creativity that occur when buying a prefabricated house: prefabricated construction and a prefabricated house are not the same thing.
The design can be done entirely with an outside architect, or the client can choose from a variety of floor plans. All elements are prefabricated in the factory, including the electrical works and plumbing. The materials that are used for stairs, doors and windows come from Rubner, are of premium quality, and are biologically sound.
Other obvious advantages that wood houses of timber frame construction have over monolithic construction include:
- Energy savings is considerable since the insulation is much more effective than in a wall of comparable thickness: it is ideal for Low-Energy and Passive Houses
- Construction times are short because all of the elements are pre-assembled in the factory
- Dry construction process
- Individualised design
- Less moisture penetration
