MATERIALS Rubner houses are made of premium green materials. We build our panels out of wood, plasterboard and cellulose, and use hemp and cork as insulating materials. Whether a given Rubner house is built using a timber-frame, solid wood or a wood-composite system, these materials lead an invisible but effective existence. All Rubner houses are certified, and fall under the
KlimaHaus categories B, A, or Gold.
We are able to produce our construction materials with minimal primary energy consumption because they are given to us directly by nature. Wood – the raw building material of the future – has ideal characteristics for the construction of eco-friendly houses. This is because wood is a renewable, long-lasting raw material with superior heat insulation properties. The integration of breathable insulating materials such as hemp and cork into the structure creates extraordinary climatic conditions within.
